Welcome!

I’m so glad you’ve found my corner of the Internet. If you’re here, I’m guessing that you or someone you care about is struggling, and you’re looking for a solution or at least someone who understands. I totally get it! Life is hard. Way harder than most people like to admit. We’re generally over-stressed, trying to live up to absurd expectations that we hold ourselves to or that our families and society expect us to live up to. On top of those expectations, we have the realities of daily life: work, school, family obligations, stress about money, relationship problems, the list goes on and on. Amidst all of that, we’re supposed to have our lives figured out. We’re supposed to know what we want to do with our life and be amazingly successful. If not, then we just don’t measure up. No wonder you’re stressed and looking for help! Counseling may be the answer you’ve been searching for.

If you…

  • Are unsure of what you want to do with your life (or how to get there)
  • Find yourself second-guessing your thoughts, feelings, and choices
  • Worry that you aren’t living up to expectations
  • Experience negative thoughts about yourself
  • Have low self-confidence
  • Feel anxious or panicked

You are in the right place! I offer counseling targeted at helping individuals overcome anxiety in a safe and nurturing space. I understand that the demands of life are overwhelming and it’s easy to feel lost and confused. Together, we will chart a path toward calm and contentedness by uncovering your unique values and goals, and developing skills and tools to combat your anxiety.

Alexis Aiger, LPCWORKING WITH ME IN COUNSELING:

I strongly believe in your ability to overcome obstacles, make peace with your past, and live a life that you enjoy.  You can find peace with the world and people around you. You can balance the demands of life so you feel less stressed, less anxious, more content, and satisfied in your relationships and in life.

I practice from a person-centered perspective that acknowledges and appreciates your unique strengths and characteristics. Within this framework, I draw heavily on cognitive behavioral techniques, as well as dialectical behavior therapy and mindfulness strategies, to help manage and ease anxiety. We will work together to identify your goals and how to best help you move toward those goals.

The process of counseling will at times be difficult, but I will provide an open, non-judgmental environment where you are free to explore any and all thoughts, feelings, and issues. I strongly believe that humans naturally strive for positive growth and I am passionate about helping you reach your full potential and live a life where you are content and experiencing life to the fullest.
